Mini Neighbors consists of a daughter (Leina) - mother (Leslie) team. Leina creates the flower arrangements and Leslie provides moral support and entertainment. Both search far and wide for special miniatures to fill out our product line.
We've been selling Leina's creations at Pacific Northwest miniature shows since 1981. Our website debuted in 2003.
How did we get started in this business? It can all be traced back to the Christmas when Leina's dad made her a dollhouse. It was partially filled with plastic furniture from Leslie's childhood dollhouse and wooden furniture from Grandma's dollhouse. When the contents of her piggybank fell far short from financing her grand plans for the rest of the furnishings, Leina started making her own miniatures.
Not excelling at woodworking or sewing (she still can't cut a straight line), Leina turned her attention to modeling flowers and foods. With some help from Barbara Meyer's Bread Dough Floral Miniatures, her creations started attracting attention, people encouraged her to sell her things...and a new stage began.
